How do you create your designs?

Sometimes I create original paintings with acrylic paint or a mixture of other media but more often I have a workflow that includes both physical and digital work. 

To do this I love to use printmaking and painting methods to decorate papers with colourful, textured patterns and marks.  Sometimes they are printed in one go on a gelli plate, sometimes I work in many layers and over many days until I am happy with the result.  

I then scan and design my images by 'painting' the colours and textures digitally in artist software such as Procreate and Photoshop.
